A cell phone, or often referred to as a mobile or wireless phone, is a portable device used for communications. Cell phones originated as being primarily used for initiating and receiving telephone communications, but have significantly evolved as technology grows. Many cell phones are enabled to send text messages, emails, take photographs and videos, send photographs, play games, and can surf the Internet. In order to operate, cell phones need to be within the vicinity of a cell tower in order to receive reception. There are many different wireless carriers and the list of services and service providers is continuously growing. With the advent of smart phones like the iPhone 4, HTC EVO, and Droid X, cell phones are rapidly replacing other forms of communicative media.
